PC Bottleneck Checker

A practical look at which part of a PC is more likely to limit a workload. There is no honest "37% bottleneck" number for a whole computer.

Likely limiting component

It depends on the game and settings

Your CPU, GPU, and RAM tiers are in a similar band, so the limit will move with the title: open-world CPU spikes, ultra textures on the GPU, or VRAM. There is no honest single percentage for "bottleneck."

How to confirm

Open Task Manager while the slow workload is running. Check CPU utilization, GPU utilization, RAM in use, dedicated GPU memory (VRAM) if a GPU tab is available, disk activity, temperatures if you have the maker's monitor, and, for games, frame rate. A part that sits at 100% while another has headroom is the practical limit for that moment. This page cannot read those numbers from your PC.

For everyday slowdowns, compare this with Windows 11 running slow, drive health, and overheating before buying parts.

How this tool works

You describe CPU and GPU in broad classes, RAM, resolution, refresh rate, storage type, and a workload. The result names a likely limiting component, or says it depends, with an explanation you can verify in Task Manager.

Important limitations

This is not a benchmark and does not know your exact CPU or GPU model. Two "mainstream" chips years apart are not equal. Use it to decide what to measure, not what to buy blindly.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't you show a bottleneck percentage?

Those scores pretend a CPU and GPU pairing has one ratio that applies to every game and setting. Real limits move with resolution, drivers, and the title. Utilization while you work is the check that matters.
