BSOD Stop Code Lookup

Enter a Windows blue-screen stop code to see what it usually means, common causes, and safe first steps. A stop code is a clue, not a single root cause.

Known examples: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, and others below.

I don't know my stop code, use the troubleshooting wizard

How this tool works

You type a stop code. We match it against a local dataset of common Windows bugcheck names, including spaces, hyphens, and hex aliases such as 0x1A. Partial names are enough to search.

Results explain what the code is used for and what people usually check first. They never claim that one part is definitely broken.

Important limitations

This list covers frequently seen codes, not every Microsoft bugcheck. Hardware conclusions need memory tests, disk health, and sometimes a technician, not a webpage.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find the stop code?

It is usually shown in uppercase with underscores on the blue screen, for example MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. After a restart, Reliability Monitor or the dump file may still list it. If you never saw the screen, use the troubleshooting wizard instead.

Does this tool read my PC?

No. Lookup is a local list on this website. We do not connect to your computer or download minidumps.
